As I sit here drinking a moderately decent $10 Shiraz and eating popcorn (yes, those two do go quite well together), I’ve been working tirelessly to try and update the design of my blog ever so slightly by taking the sidebar (that thing on the far right with the search box and what-not) and making it “widget-friendly” for a singular purpose – so I can add my imeem playlist into my sidebar. I succeeded in adding the code to make my sidebar widget friendly only to discover that the imeem widget which requires the anarchy player is obviously going to take far more configuration than I’m currently willing to muster (see previous post)… all the while fighting with myself to begin disproving this natural predilection to self-defeating apathy even though (as stated in said previous post) I am completely aware how ingrained it is for me to plot my own demise.

I love this theme with its dark colors and Mondrianesque black lines of separation. Even with a complete lack of artistic imagery, it is still very appealing. But, it isn’t widget friendly and the author’s website (obligatorily linked at the bottom of the site) is a non-starter (obviously fallen to the dark lords of domain parking). So… no help there. I have the skillset to make all the changes I need and perhaps even make an updated version of this theme that is both more flexible and supported… but, well, in typical fashion… I’m having a really hard time believing it will be worth the effort.

Here’s to epiphanies that bring about immediate change… or not. Cheers.
